The Milton Joins New York’s gastro-pub scene
Manhattan’s gastro-pub boom – or maybe its a bubble – shows no sign of abating. The Milton which will launch next month at 1754 Second Ave, is the latest to test the city’s appetite for more sophisticated food in a less pretentious setting.
This partiular gastro-pub, which boasts both anglo and Irish influences, is the creative brainchild of Tomas maher, of 13 st Entertainment, and Chef David Diaz, formerly of Brasserie Beaumarchais.
The plan is to bring the pair’s “downtown vibe” to the upper east side alongside fellow uptown collaborators Liam Moore, of Harley’s Smokeshack, and Johnny hayes of Doc Watsons .
Like the menu and the overall vibe, the hours aren’t too rigid. The Milton will operate from 4pm, “until late”, a rep said.
